The American Chemical Society (ACS), the SENCER Centers of Innovation Southwest and South, and Bellhaven University welcome you to Jackson, Mississippi and to our symposium with a theme of STEM Education in Mississippi: Issues and Innovations. Throughout a full-day of activities, we will focus on use of innovative and proven pedagogy to reduce barriers to learning, student success, and retention. Presenters include educators and administrators from throughout the country.

Elizabeth Stenger is currently the Education Curator of the Jackson Zoological Society.  Elizabeth has over five years of experience internationally within the zoological field. She holds a Master of Science in Zoo Conservation Biology from Plymouth University, completing a research project on the behavioral effects of contraception as a form of captive group management throughout the European population of saki monkeys. Elizabeth is the department lead for both Education and Volunteer Services at The Jackson Zoo, where she strives to expand the educational reach of the zoo into new depths. Additionally, Elizabeth serves on the Jackson Zoo Conservation Committee and the American Association of Zoo Keepers.
